Skin Needling - Dermaroller |
|
|
|
Dermaroller uses fine microneedles to stimulate tissue regeneration by inducing collagen production. The benefits of dermaroller have been proven by scientific and clinical findings. If you suffer from uneven, dull or lifeless skin, wrinkles, pigmentation, mild scarring or stretch marks....then the Dermaroller is your solution.
What device is used?
Northern Sydney Dermatology recognises that there are many types of rollers available on the market. The Dermaroller used in our clinic is the first Transdermal Needle Roller to be TGA listed with proven results on the skin.
Important Information about the Dermaroller
- 3-5 Treatments are usually required
- Treatments are spaced 6-8 weeks apart
- Improvement of up to 70% may be obtained after completing treatment
- Down-time is short. You may have mildly inflammed skin immediately after treatment. This usually fades significantly within hours. You can cover this with makeup.
- We recommend the use of a sunscreen after treatment and to avoid any active ingredients such as salicylic acid, retinol and glycolic acid for 3 days.
- This treatment is usually well tolerated with low risk. Infection is a rare possibility along with small inflammatory nodules.
Who should not have Dermaroller Treatment?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding then you should defer treatment with Dermaroller. You should not have treatment if you suffer from Epilepsy.
A referral is not always required for cosmetic consultations. For further information about the Dermaroller please contact Northern Sydney Dermatology and we will be happy to arrange a consultation with our Dermal Therapist.
